Visual Art as Improv

  • Side Rail Collective 5511 1/2 Airport Way South Seattle, WA, 98108 United States (map)

Visual Art as Improvisation

Inspired by free improv music, this art practice seeks to be physically present, improvisational and collaborative. Participants are called on to react to the physical and sonic space they are in and to each other's actions. Within the space of the evening, we’ll fabricate a large collaborative drawing/object/installation together using addition, subtraction and mark-making, starting with a set of basic rules; improvised music by Gregg Miller & friends. Every session will be different.

Free for Side Rail Members - Non-Members by donation pay what you can.

Anjali and the Installation from January

Anjali in her element! Anjali is amazing at coming up with new and exciting ideas each month that keep us on our toes and coming back for more.

Within the space of the evening we will fabricate a large collaborative drawing/object/installation. It changes each month so come back multiple times!
