Monster Collage

What gets in the way of your art practice? Is it something internal like fear or judgment? Or something external like overcommitment or time barriers?

Create an externalized monster via collage making in order to visualize and master your creative self. All levels of experience are welcome.

This workshop is taught co-taught by Colleen O’Rollins and Mylen Huggins - Colleen is a trained art therapist and psychotherapist in Seattle. She once said “I can’t even draw a circle, it comes out ugly.” She has transformed that self doubt into an active art practice—ceramics, printmaking, painting and mixed media. She is passionate about sharing the benefits of art making with others.

Mylen is a full-time artist whose work has been exhibited at various venues in Washington State. For many years, she worked as a teaching artist for Arts Corps, Seattle Art Museum, and Seattle Public Schools, and as an artist mentor for Arts Impact.  She has also served as a committee and board member for Arts Corps and a contributing art juror for Phinney Neighborhood Association.
