Guidelines 

• Members have priority for scheduling including weekend use. 

• Non-Member proposals submitted by the quarterly deadline (see schedule below) will be reviewed and approved and allotted time slots based on availability and host preference. After the quarterly approval date, sessions will be approved on a first come first serve basis. Proposals must be submitted at least 1 month prior to requested session date.

• Sessions should be limited to a maximum of 4 hours per day including set up and clean up, in order to allow for more than one session per day. Sessions will be scheduled in the following time slots including set up and clean up. This limitation may be waived on a case by case basis:

  • Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 9 am - 1  pm 

  • Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 1: 30 - 5: 30 pm 

  • Monday - Sunday - 6 - 10 pm 

• All modalities are welcome so long as they are hands-on/interactive. For example: Art Making Workshop, Host a theater workshop, Host a dance workshop, Make your own drum, teach others what you know.  We encourage sessions that highlight the emotional and intuitive aspects of the creative process, and that encourage collaboration and interaction in addition to teaching traditional skills or techniques.

• Sessions may be free or fee based to attendees at the discretion of the host.

• Side Rail will charge hosts to use the space. Side Rail may waive or reduce host fees on a case by case basis.

• Non-member sessions will be assigned a Side Rail Member Liaison. This member will be responsible for communicating with the host and being available to open the space and close the space for the host. The liaison will be allowed to take the session free of charge.

• Side Rail will not be responsible for guaranteeing or finding session attendees. Session hosts are responsible for advertising, promoting and recruiting attendees. Side Rail will post sessions on our calendar, newsletter and social media if event is open to the public and if submitted by the deadlines indicated below.

• Hosts are responsible for set up and clean up and for all supplies/equipment needed for the session. Host must leave the space in the same condition as they found it.

• Side Rail has the following available for use: 

• 5 - 30” x 7’ tables

• 20 miscellaneous chairs

• Drawing boards (10) 2’ x 2’

• (2) easels

• (3) 30” x 8’ portable pin up boards

• Sound system - with bluetooth connection + 2 wireless mics

Quarterly Reservations Schedule 

Session Fees:

Creative Sessions: $30 hour with a 3 hour Minimum
General Rental: $50 hour with a 4 hour Minimum
